Research Guidelines
READ CAREFULLY!

Many times in this class you will be looking for historical research. I will ask you frequently to “prove that this passage is historically accurate.” For most of you, going to the internet is the fastest way to determine that.

I have a few NEW guidelines for internet research.

1. You may NOT cite a blog, a teacher’s page, WIKIPEDIA, yahoo!answers, or any other non-expert source.

2. YOU MUST document the source properly within your paper and as a WORKS CITED listing.

3. All of your research info must be set up in MLA format. All of the rules for writing apply. Even though it isn’t an essay, I expect it to be grammatically and mechanically correct. Yes, you can number your answers and use bullet format on occasion, but the writing still must be correct.

That said, you must proceed to the following to read more about MLA. >>
